Dear Twitter Family,

Thanks to each and everyone of you to have empathized with me following my post on groping & sexual harassment in public places (& of-course everywhere including within families). It feels very supportive to see voices condemning this cruelty, demanding action & safety of women. There has been many good suggestions & also tagging to concerned authorities demanding action & accountability. My heartfelt thanks.

Amidst these there has been few tweets bringing in their ‘political agenda’ in place saying this is the plight in DMK ruling TN & BJP would have taken immediate action. We all know what is happening in BJP led state. This is utterly insensitive to bring in party politics in this.

Harassment against women have been happening since ages, and major discussion is around punishment, arrests, encounter, cut of their bxxs etc!

Some suggested learn martial arts, pepper spray, attack immediately and so on. I thank you for this care & concern. However, one ought to understand, it takes a while for us to realize what just happened to us! By then the perpetrator is gone! And in crowded places it is not possible to quickly identify who is that psycho. At times they would be a gang, it is not safe to immediately retaliate! (am talking reality. not the utopian patriarchal bravery-veeram here).

My dear friends, this is a Systemic Issue! I am trying to bring in attention towards “why this is happening repeatedly even when there are enough punishment codes available?” Criminals know that they can even be hanged, but how do they do this? Including domestic violence and so on?

The real issue is the “condition of women” here (entire world). I want people to see the larger picture of ‘gender inequality’ & question this and urge governments (across India) to work on gender sensitization programs, gender education (not just sex education), improving the conditions of women, women empowerment, campaigns and programs against the regressive Patriarchal Culture here! Do people even know about what is Patriarchy (ஆணாதிக்கம்!). No, not many!

I want women to be treated well in all the places, men have to be sensitized on this without glorifying ‘femineity, motherhood, the sacrificial goat kind of thing… , she is Annaporani, the saviour of lives and so on’. I want the gender roles to be questioned!

The right to education, right to health (how many women are malnourished & anaemic), right to reproductive health, right to exist (female infanticide), right to be moral-policing free – strict punishment against slut shaming, moral policing about their dress, boy friends, personal life, cultural pressure etc… I DEMAND CULTURAL REVOLUTION, yes GENDER code REVIVAL!

We need psychological study on all MEN who have been arrested for crimes against women, especially Sexual Crimes! We ought to know their mindset, then only we can treat this pandemic! The infectious disease!

I want the aware ones to emphasize on the above!

This doesn’t mean I am not demanding any police action! Yes I do, because under given ‘system’ the only option is that. However, let’s practically question how many such instances can police attend to? The volume of Sexual Harassment crime is huge amidst other crimes & upon this their ‘bureaucratic’ duties as well! Do they have enough force to cater to this volume of problems? What will be their priority amidst this lack of force! And there is also a systemic issue, because of the Patriarchal Upbringing & the cultural values that has been inculcated to them! The treatment that people receive, the questions that are asked is because of the ‘system’ here! It is no more an ‘individual’ problem, neither a ‘department’ problem. 

In my case, police did get into action immediately & went to nearby buildings to access the CCTV, however he could not be caught for whatever reasons! I panicked when it happened to my daughter again, I felt dejected, horrible, disgusting, traumatic and immediately shifted my place of residence. Yes, the lack of action has hurt me badly! 

However, as a Marxist I always want to address the ‘base’ – the root cause of the problem! That’s why I am putting it on the social media for a discussion that will question the ‘plight of women’ here, than the police action or inaction, whose rule it happens etc.

And ofcourse, Men are also affected! And there are big problems equally – casteism, religious hatred crimes, Economic problems, unemployment issues, Poverty, Racism and what not! All these problems – the problems of Men, Women, Queer People – reflecting in the above forms are all interconnected!

First a group is oppressed, the other gets power to humiliate, exploit, harass, kill, lay behavioural rules – in the name of culture & religion! Has this been questioned by the larger masses? Are they even aware of this? I mean the gender inequality, the plight of women, the Patriarchy & gender-based Exploitation – in labour, family system, socio-cultural front, Political front and so on?

No! except for few, majority is not aware of the disparity, discrimination, subjugation, oppression & exploitation which has been there forever! Anyone who question this is a ‘slut’, culturally immoral person! This moral policing threat scares women to just abide by the rules & accept subjugation. They condition themselves to be a woman of Patriarchal virtues! They are scared to go against their gender roles! They are scared to question the system! They believe that they are ‘secondary’! & Men are conditioned to be above Women! They believe that they have the power! 

Men believe that –

• they have the power to ‘take’ anything from women
• they have the power to control women & keep them under their feet!
• Women are ‘made’ to plea them, sexually satisfy them – they are mere sex objects. (good example is the ‘item’ dance in cinemas).
• The Patriarchal-feudal cultural-familial upbringing give them the power to moral police & abuse! & more ofcourse – the list goes on!

The society is such! This reflects in the bureaucracy as well! That is why we see insensitive approach, judgements against women, lack of action / slut shaming / victim blaming, asking women to ‘behave’ and so on even in administrative & security systems.

The socio-cultural upbringing since ages has made a man a beast! (sorry to say this!) While there has to be strict action against these beasts for their brutal, cruel crimes, there has to be a sensible / gender sensitive approach to this whole thing – THE PLIGHT OF WOMEN, needs attention! Quick & Serious attention – a Feminist View is needed (rather Marxist-Socialist-Feminist) view is needed.

It is needed in the bureaucratic system itself. The ‘rulers’ themselves lack this understanding! They still think ‘woman’ is a ‘woman’ – an embodiment of ‘femineity’ as per the scared texts! For hells sake, please come out of this!

I want the Governments to come up with programs for CHANGE!

I DEMAND CULTURAL REVOLUTION, yes GENDER code REVIVAL! gender DISCRIMINATION has to stop!

EDUCATE, EMPOWER WOMEN, ESTABLISH GENDER EQUALITY! – GIVE US A MANIFESTO FOR THIS!

This is not an easy task I know, but start atleast now! Before you lose your daughters & beti’s to some scum! STOP this systemic genocide on Women!

What is going to be the Governments’ action to stop this?

Every time a crime against a woman happens, I request the masses to question this – WHERE IS THE MANIFESTO FOR GENDER EQUALITY!

@kumudam_com – Apologise for your story insulting women and be responsible! – Kavitha Muralidharan

Women who wear leggings are immoral! That’s what Kumudam, a popular Tamil Magazine, thinks.

Kumudam has also printed several photos of women wearing leggings without their consent! If the women are wearing Kurtas over their leggings, the magazine has chosen to print sleazy photographswhere the wind is blowing up their kurta.

This is sickening behaviour! Sign our petition and make Kumudam magazine apologise for this tasteless story.

The magazine has also printed a poem by an anonymous male author – who says men can’t help but ogle women, so it is the responsibility of women to dress ‘decently’.

Kumudam thinks it can get away with moral policing and publicly shaming women! We need to show them that if they publish such stories, they too will be held publicly accountable.

Kumudam’s editor and managing director have refused to comment on this story. They’re refusing to acknowledge that their magazine hasdone anything wrong.

Sadly, this is not the first time that Kumudam has demeaned women. They have run many such sensational stories where they degrade women. Kumudam has to be held accountable!

Sign my petition and make Kumudam apologise and promise to publish responsible stories.

I am a female journalist and Kumudam’s history of objectifying and judging women sickens me. If enough people sign this petition, we canshow Kumudam that their readers and their audience will not tolerate such stories.

5^th September, 2103 – Puthiya Thalimurai Tv invited to participate in a debate that was scheduled to discuss about the proposal prepared by The directorate of collegiate education. The proposal recommends to impose # dresscode for students. Victim Blaming is the most adapted strategy in our society. Whole world is no exception to that. Particularly, when it comes to #sexual #violence #against #women there is an outcry with the  ‘male tongue’ which points out to dress, behavior, attitude etc. If one has to put it in a crude manner with a Tamil dictum it shouts saying “break the legs of the women and lock her home, then everything will be alright”

The proposal by Ms. Senthamizh Selvi, The directorate of collegiate education is as equal as saying so. This directorate is representing the Arts and Science College. It is said that dress code has already been imposed in few Engineering Colleges. We do not know if it is not important for Medical Colleges and other institutions.

Distraction, Protection against Sexual assault, dignity and morality has been the primary reason often spoken by such people. If a man is getting distracted by seeing a women dressed ‘sexy’, then it is going to be the same case with Women also. Not only on the account of being sexy, but depending on color, design, fashion and style one would get curios or attracted towards other person irrespective of gender. One of the panelist Mr. Manushyaputhran asked that a person may also get distracted over the other person because of his / her looks, ‘beauty’ etc, so what are we going to about it? He sarcastically pointed out that, more than students, it is the faculty that gets distracted with dress and looks of the other person.

Not only that a student my feel distracted because of the teaching standards of the professor, attitude of the professor, the institution’s approach etc. He / She may be even be distracted or travel in his / her own world because some issues in the family or society. May be the Institutions might even say that if a person feels distracted, then would be dismissed. An energetic brain is bound to think too many things at the same time. It is quite natural. It is said that brain (waves) travel faster than the sound waves. Not only ‘decent-closed’ dress, any damn thing on this earth is not going to be able to stop this. May be the Professor’s teaching methodology and the experience an Institution gives may be of some help.

Secondly, it is about Sexual Conduct. I have been writing about the ‘freedom’ that is granted to women in an Globalized Era under Capitalism. I have even put forward some harsh realities and psycho-graphics. However, they are meant to be a discourse with my fellow beings. It is knowledge dissemination with the observations that I make and intended to educate, expose, create awareness about the external factor that conditions our mind about Status, Pseudo Radicalism by means of “fashion”. We need to debate on it and make everyone understand that those dresses emphasize that Women is all about Flesh and Beauty. We should point out on the dangers of consumerist Slavery. It is important for women (& men) to know about Retaining their Self-Respect without falling prey to such ‘fashion statements’. Making it Rules and Codes is to be defined as Dictatorship. The people who oppose this does not seem to have understood the ‘Dress Politics’ in an Globalized Era, they are not sensitive about liberal Economy.  This perception is a blatant result of Patriarchy.

People further ask – Dress code in institution is going to be for 5 hours, is that enough to change someone’s mind? How is it going help curb violence outside the campus? There is a lots to do to improve the quality of education in an institution, is dress code a priority? These questions are justified. But the answers seem to be “I am concerned about what you do inside my campus (limits), outside that I am not bothered”. What kind of Social Concern is this? One of the Panelist who happens to be a professor said that “If it comes here, it will come outside as well”. This is the standard of the education institutions here. She used a phrase called ‘Hieghts of Feminism’. Quite funny. What is Feminism?  Is it amount feminity? Is it about being Women? There has been numerous discussion put forward by Feminists on what is Feminity (or gender – the social construction). These ‘Professors’ don’t seem to have read them at all.

Another Panelist Ms. Banu Goms said that ‘Women’s anatomy would definitely stimulate a Man, hence women should not ‘provoke’ men with their dresses”. It sounded like I live in barbaric era. Talking about the Capitalistic Dominance on a Women’s Body and Psyche makes sense. Instead she argued saying it is ‘scientific’. ‘Biological’ instincts is different from saying it is scientific. And even such instincts arouse naturally, then it applies to women as well. But women have been oppressed on grounds of Morality, Virginity, Chastity etc and they have suppressed their emotions for centuries. In fact by now the genes have got mutated. Another panelist Ms. Suseenthra a student asked “Will a man be aroused on seeing a Mother’s breasts while she is serving food”. Ms. Banu reacted immediately out of ‘Cultural Shock’ saying, “Oh how can you talk so vulgar?” This testifies her ‘intellect’. If we say even Women get ‘orgasm’, I am sure she would have commented ‘you seem to be sex maniac’.

Manushyaputhiran shared a different view about Uniforms. Our society is drowned with unequal distribution of wealth and Caste indifference, hence we cannot completely accept that view, however it is important the we encourage discourse around the point that ‘uniforms are a part of Institutionalizing and pseudo discipline’. Dress has become a status symbol and the society has been brain washed enough. So we have to analyze both ends.

One set of People argue that ‘Conduct’ is in mind, others say, if we loose our senses (body) everything is lost. We have to understand that Heart, Body everything is same. Brain is the basis of everything. What is stored in our brain appears as visuals and thoughts in us. We call that as ‘mind’ (or heart). What is stored in brain is a result of social conditioning and it is very hard to change that.

While I walk out after the program, Vasumithra called to ask “People (professors) are saying that dress code is important to save students from distraction.. but we have instances where teachers, professors and chancellors (male) indulge in sexual harassment and even Rape the students. Will someone be able to guarantee that the professors will not indulge in sexual harassment against women those who dress ‘decently’?”

Moreover Homo Sexual harassment is also quite common in Institutions. What will those People say about ‘Men’s dress’ in this case?

It may not be surprising if they again defend by saying it is the problem with the ‘dress’, ‘attitude’ etc.

In memoir of Gayathri, a student belonging to Arunthathiyar Caste, whose death is still mysterious. She studied in Vivekananda College, Thiruchenkode and is said that she was sexually harassed and raped by the faculty. I can certainly say that she was not wearing ‘sexy’ clothes….

 It is shameful to reject an opportunity to learn. It is hypocritical that such organizations take power in their hands to threaten a human being as per their convenience while they believe that it is the same GOD who created human beings. Why are they choosy when it comes to believe that it is ‘GOD’s wish’ or ‘GOD’s order’?

கருத்துரிமைக்கு எதிரான இந்த அச்சுறுத்தலில் “உன் கருத்துடன் முரண்படுகிறேன். ஆனால் உன்னுடைய கருத்து சுதந்திரத்தை ஆதரிக்கிறேன் என்பதே சிறந்த ஜனநாயக நெறிமுறையாக இருக்கும்”. இந்நிலையில் உலகபுகழ்பெற்ற இஸ்லாமிய பெண்ணிய சிந்தனையாளரும், அமெரிக்க பல்கலைகழக பேராசிரியருமான ஆமீனா வதூத் சென்னை பல்கலைகழகத்தில் கவுரவ விரிவுரையாற்ற இருந்தார். சென்னை எஸ்.ஐ.இ.டி கல்லூரியிலும் அவரின் உரை இருந்தது. ஆனால் அவரை அங்கு பேசவிடாமல் வஹ்ஹாபிய அமைப்பு ஒன்று தடை செய்திருக்கிறது. அவர் இஸ்லாமிய விரோதி என்ற வழக்கமான முத்திரைகளை பிரயோகித்து அதனை தடுத்திருக்கிறது. அதிகாரவர்க்கமும் ஓட்டு வங்கி அரசியல் காரணமாக அதற்கு துணை போயிருக்கிறது. பொதுவாக பல்கலைகழக கருத்தரங்கம் என்பது எல்லா தரப்பினரும் பார்வையாளராக பங்கேற்கும் ஒரு மேடை. மற்றவர்களை மிரட்டி என்னோடு மோதத்தயாரா? என்று சவால் விடுக்கும் இம்மாதிரியான இயக்கங்கள் பொது அரங்கில் ஒருவரை பேச விடாமல் தடுப்பது என்பது முரண்நகையே. மேலும் வறட்சியானதும், ஜனநாயக நெறிமுறைகளுக்கு எதிரானதும் கூட. ஆக கருத்துரிமைக்கு எதிரான இந்த போக்கு மிகவும்  வன்மையாக கண்டிக்கத்தக்கது.

 சமூக அமைதியை, நல்லிணக்கத்தை விரும்பும் அனைத்து ஜனநாயக சக்திகள் குரல் கொடுக்க வேண்டிய நியாயமும் , அதற்கான தேவையும் இந்த சூழலில் எழுந்திருக்கிறது. இம்மாதிரியாக தங்களின் இருப்பிற்காகவும், அரசியலுக்காகவும் சமூகத்தை காயாக பயன்படுத்தி இயங்கும் வஹ்ஹாபிய அமைப்புகளை கருத்துரிமைக்கு ஆதரவான எழுத்தாளர்கள் மற்றும் மனித உரிமை ஆர்வலர்களின் கூட்டமைப்பு வன்மையாக கண்டிக்கிறது. அதிகாரவர்க்கமும், நீதிமன்றமும் தலையிட்டு இம்மாதிரி அமைப்புகளின் செயல்பாடுகளை கண்காணித்து ஜனநாயக இந்தியாவில் கருத்து சுதந்திரத்திற்கு ஆதரவான சூழலை ஏற்படுத்த கூட்டமைப்பு கேட்டுக்கொள்கிறது.

Chithralekha arrested for filing complaint under SC/ST (PoA) Act against abusive block panchayat official

 

M.A.S.E.S strongly condemn this act and requests the intervention of concerned authorities and Government. Pl share widely.

Chithralekha, the Dalit woman auto rickshaw driver from Payannur (who has been fighting the CITU/CPM in her locality for a long time now), and her husband Shreeshkanth, have been picked up by the police and arrested on the non-bailable offense of obstructing a government official in the conduct of his duties. The Government Official who is the Jila Panchayath SC officer ( M B Muralidharan, an upper caste man) had withheld Chithra’s loan, and she had questioned him on this. This happened in the month of January 2013. When Chithra questioned him, he abused her in the most derogatory way. Citing all this, Chithra had complained to the SC/ST commission and they had called her for a meeting about this case in June 2013. The said official was to be summoned under SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. However, instead of doing that, the police has instead arrested Chithra and is right now taking her to the magistrate. They arrested her in a most stealthy way. First they booked a non existing traffic offense case against her and took away her autorickshaw by crane. When she went to inquire about this, she was told that there is a case against her, and she was arrested.

We urge dalit activists, women’s groups and concerned citizens to support Chithra in her struggle. Please protest against this gross injustice against a struggling dalit woman.

வஜெகா அல் குவைதர் மற்றும் பௌசியா அல் ஒயோயுனி ஆகிய இந்த இரு செயற்பாட்டாளர்களுக்கும் விதிக்கப்பட்டுள்ள இந்தத் தண்டனை, அவர்களை சிறையில் போட்டு, அவர்கள் பெண்களுக்காக எழுப்பி வருகின்ற குரலை அடக்குவதற்கான ஒன்றாக பார்க்கப்படுகின்றது.

சவுதி பெண்களுக்கு வாகனங்களை ஓட்டுவதற்கான உரிமை வழங்கப்பட வேண்டும் என்ற போராட்டத்தில் முன்னணியில் திகழ்ந்தவர் வஜெகா.

பௌசியா சவுதியில் பெண்களுக்கான செல்வாக்கு மிக்க இணையதளம் ஒன்றை நடத்திவருகின்றார்.

வீட்டில் அடைக்கப்பட்ட கனடியப் பெண்

ஆகவே இரு வருடங்களுக்கு முன்னதாக தான் கடுமையாக தனது சவுதியைச் சேர்ந்த கணவரால் சித்ரவதைகளுக்கு உள்ளாக்கப்படுவதாக நத்தலி மோரின் என்னும் கனடிய பெண் முறையிட்ட போது, இவர்கள் இருவரும் அதில் அந்தப் பெண்ணுக்கு ஆதரவாக தலையிட்டார்ககள் என்பது யதார்த்தமானதுதான்.

ஆனால், அந்த துஷ்பிரயோக குற்றச்சாட்டை அந்தப் பெண்ணின் கணவர் மறுத்தார்.

அந்த கனடிய பெண், தன்னையும் தனது குழந்தைகளையும் தனது கணவர் உணவு, தண்ணீர் இல்லாமல் அடைத்து வைத்திருப்பதாகவும், தனக்கு உதவுமாறும் தமக்கு டெக்ஸ்ட் மூலம் உதவி கோரினார் என்று பௌசியா கூறுகிறார்.

ஆகவே தாம் இருவரும், அந்த கனடிய பெண்ணுக்கு உணவு வழங்குவதற்காக அவரது வீட்டுக்கு சென்றதாக இரு பெண்களும் கூறுகின்றனர்.

ஆனாலும், அந்த டெக்ஸ்ட் செய்தி உண்மையில் தம்மை இந்த விடயத்தில் மாட்டி விடுவதற்காக நத்தலியின் கணவராலேயே அனுப்பப்பட்டதாக பௌசியா கூறுகிறார்.

நத்தலியின் கணவர் பொலிஸுக்கு புகார் செய்ய, பொலிஸார், நத்தலியை கடத்த முயன்றார்கள் என்ற குற்றச்சாட்டின் பேரில் இவர்களை கைது செய்தார்கள்.

இவர்கள் இருவருக்கும் இந்த ஜூன் மாதத்தில் சிறைத்தண்டனை விதிக்கப்பட்டபோது, அந்தக் குற்றச்சாட்டு கைவிடப்பட்டது.

ஆனால், அதற்குப் பதிலாக இவர்களுக்கு தக்பீப் – அதாவது ஒரு மனைவியை அவரது கணவரின் அதிகாரத்தை நிராகரிக்குமாறு தூண்டி விடுதல் என்ற குற்றச்சாட்டின் கீழ் இவர்களுக்கு தண்டனை வழங்கப்பட்டது.

இவர்களுக்கு 10 மாதச் சிறைத்தண்டனையும், 2 வருடங்களுக்கு பயணத்தடையும் விதிக்கப்பட்டது.

இதனை மனித உரிமைகள் அமைப்புக்கள் கண்டித்துள்ளன.

இந்த இரு பெண்களும் கடந்த காலங்களில் சவுதி பெண்களின் உரிமைகளுக்காக போரடிதற்கான பதிலடியாக, அவர்களை மௌனிக்கச் செய்வதற்காகவே அவர்களுக்கு இந்தச் சிறைத்தண்டனை வழங்க்கப்படுவதாக ”ஈக்குவாலிட்டி நவ்” என்ற அமைப்பின் செயற்பாட்டாளரான சவுட் அபு தையே பிபிசியிடம் தெரிவித்தார்.

செல்வாக்கு மிக்க சூரா கவுன்ஸிலில் பெண்களுக்கு உறுப்புரிமை வழங்குவது, அடுத்து வருகின்ற உள்ளூராட்சி சபைத் தேர்தலில் பெண்களுக்கு வாக்களிக்க இடமளிப்பது ஆகியவற்றின் மூலம் மன்னர் அப்துல்லா சவுதியில் பெண்களுக்கு மேலும் உரிமைகளை வழங்க நடவடிக்கை எடுத்து வருகிறார்.

இவை வெறுமனே ஒரு குறியீட்டளவிலானவை மாத்திரமே என்று செயற்பாட்டாளர்கள் கூறுகிறார்கள்.

பெண்கள் மீது ஆண்களுக்கு இருக்கக்கூடிய ”பாதுகாவலர்” என்ற அதிகாரத்தில் மட்டுப்பாடுகள் தேவை என்பதுதான் தற்போது பெண் உரிமைச் செயற்பாட்டாளர்களின் முக்கிய கோரிக்கையாக இருக்கிறது.

இந்த இலகுவில் மாற்ற முடியாத அம்சங்களுக்கு எதிராகப் போராடி பெண்களுக்கான ஒரு மேம்பட்ட உலகை உறுதி செய்யும் போராட்டத்தில் வஜெகாவும் பௌசியாவும் உண்மையில் வீரப் போராளிகள் என்று அவர்கள் பாராட்டுகிறார்கள்.

I am ashamed of those men and women who wish to claim themselves as ‘goodies’ by pointing out fingers at the ‘rapists’ and shouting their heart out demanding capital punishment on them or seeking action against Rapists. Though action is necessary, what actions and protests have they taken against the ‘male chauvinistic exploiters’ who objectify women as sexual objects in their films, shows, magazines, who made them cheers leaders etc and propagate women is all about ‘flesh’ .

Are they ready to ‘occupy theatres, media houses’ and ask them to ‘STOP SEXUAL EXPLOITATION’, ‘STOP SEDUCING INNOCENT MEN’ for their profits?

Are they ready to do something to rehabilitate those men who have been ‘sexually drugged’ with porns, item songs, ‘A’ certificate films and all male chauvinistic piggy ideologies?

Are they ready to talk to those ‘rapists’ and research on what ‘induces’ them to act so cruel and what could be done to prevent ‘sex-drugging’ of minds of men.

How many of those men respect the ‘labor’ of women at house work. How many of those men share house chore work? How many of those men respect women for what she is? How many of those men spare decision making power to woman in her own life?
How many of those men would not have ‘eve teased’, used words like ‘figure, chick, babe, hot machi’ etc., would not have tried to ‘take advantage or exploit’ women in the name of ‘love’.

Law and Punishment can hardly bring about change, take on the ‘REAL MAFIAS and REAL EXPLOITORS – THE IDEOLOGICAL RAPISTS OF WOMANHOOD’.

தங்கள் இலாப நோக்கத்திற்காக ‘பாலியல் சுரண்டலை நிறுத்து’, ‘ஆண்களை பாலியல் ரீதியாக மூளைச் சலவை செய்வதை, காம வெறி ஏற்றுவதை நிறுத்து’ என்று சொல்லி ‘திரையரங்குகளை, ஊடக அலுவலகங்களை’ முற்றுகையிட அந்த ‘நல்லவர்கள்’ தயாரா?

போர்னோக்ராபி, குத்துப் பாடல்கள், ‘ஏ’ சான்றிதழ் திரைப்படங்கள் போன்ற ஆணாதிக்க பன்றித்தனமான கருத்தியல்களை பயன்படுத்தி ‘பாலியல் போதை’ ஏற்றப்பட்ட அப்பாவி ஆணினத்தை மீட்டெடுக்க, காப்பாற்ற ஏதாவது செய்வார்களா?

‘வன்புனர்வாளர்களிடம்’ பேசி, ஆய்வு செய்து, எது அவர்களை அத்தகைய கொடூரச் செயல்களைச் செய்யத் தூண்டுகிறது என்று ஆய்வு செய்து ‘பாலியல் போதை’யிலிருந்து ஆணினத்தை மீட்க ஏதாவது செய்வார்களா?

இவர்களில் எத்தனை ஆன்கள் பெண்ணின் ‘உழைப்பை’ வீட்டில் மதிக்கிறார்கள், எத்தனை ஆண்கள் வீட்டு வேலையை பகிர்ந்து கொள்கிறார்கள், பெண்ணை அவளின் ஆளுமைக்காக மதிக்கிறார்கள், பெண்ணுக்கு அவள் வாழ்வின் மீது முடிவெடுக்கும் உரிமையை அனுமதிக்கிறார்கள்?

இவர்களில் எத்தனை ஆண்கள் பெண்களை கிண்டல் செய்யாமல் இருந்திருப்பார்கள்?, ’ஃபிகரு’, ‘சிக், பேப், ஹாட்டு மச்சி’ போன்ற சொற்களைப் பயன்படுத்தாமல் இருந்திருப்பார்கள், காதல் என்ற பெயரில் பெண்ணை ஏமாற்றாமல் இருந்திருப்பார்கள்?

சட்டங்களும், தண்டனைகளும் அரிதாகவே மாற்றங்களைக் கொண்டுவர இயலும், ’உண்மையான மாஃபியாக்கள் மற்றும் உண்மையான சுரண்டல்வாதிகள் – பெண் மீது கருத்தியல் வன்புணர்வு செய்யும் வண்புணர்வாளர்களுக்கெதிராக போராடுங்கள்’

We invite you for a press meet in which M.A.S.E.S is releasing the fact finding report of a suspectful death of Ms. Kokila (23), a pariyar caste girl whose death is suspected to be a honor killing. She loved an arunthathiyar caste boy named Karthikeyan and has been brutally harassed by her parents who were against inter-caste marriage to a low caste boy. There are audio records of the brutality as told by Kokila over phone and statements by Karthikeyan on video.
